Please read below for updates on how the Terraces of Baycrest are keeping residents engaged and connected to their loved ones during COVID-19 precautionary measures.

Family and Resident Video Calling

Beginning Tuesday, March 24, residents will be able to connect with friends and family through live video chats with the use of iPads, Apple FaceTime or Android Duo applications. Sessions will be offered from Monday – Friday and family members interested in participating can email Patti O’Neill at po’ to facilitate a time.

Embrace Your Home Base Package

Beginning Monday, March 23, packages of engaging at-home activities, prepared by the Terraces of Baycrest team, are being delivered to individual suites twice a week. These packages include prayers, art appreciation activities, creative expression pages from Baycrest Art Therapist Andrea Savoie, brain games such as word searches and Sodoku, health and wellness tips on relaxation and stress management, light exercises and daily humour or inspirational quotes.

Modified Exercise Classes

Residents will be offered exercise classes on their floors, in order to maintain social distance guidelines. Offered 1-2 times per week on each floor, residents will be able to engage in physical activity in the absence of group-based activities in common areas.

The Terraces of Baycrest team is hard at work organizing BINGO for residents to be able to participate in from the doorways of their suites. Cards will live in resident suites to protect against potential virus spread and numbers will be called from a general area on the floor.
